Pasco Technology and Industry Advisory

This advisory program oversees that elective programs that are being offered in Pasco High Schools are being well executed. At the same time this program relies on local community members to help approve certain expenses and program ideas.

This program only requires me to show up 2-3 times a year to these meetings. Relationships with school personnel will be a key factor, as well as a possibility for future schools events that will help Royal Roofing be showcased with school board members.

Why did I choose this?
As a former Pasco High alumni, I participated in these elective programs. The fact that now, I can voice and vote on new ideas and help with program budgets for future students would not only be a privilege but an honor.

Cinco de Mayo Parade

The Pasco 5 de Mayo Festival is a place of joy, celebration, and connection. The festival is family oriented and offers a true cultural experience through traditional music, Mexican food, and entertainment. Most people come and experience this family-friendly event, which features floats from local community organizations, event sponsors, and authentic Mexican dancers and performers. This tradition in Pasco has been going on since May 4, 1989.

Why did I choose this?

I chose this event because it’s fun and entertaining. When I was younger, I enjoyed this event because I always had fun and I want for others to enjoy it as much as I did. Some of my favorite parts of this event were the parade; I enjoyed watching the horses, the Mexican traditional dance “Baile Folklorico” and the food as well. There is so much to do at the Cinco de Mayo Festival for kids and adults and I'd like to help keep the tradition going.

Junior Achievement Classroom Volunteer

Junior Achievement is a non-profit economic education organization. The mission at Junior Achievement is to educate young students (K-12) in the areas of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and help prepare students for the future workforce. The main focus is to inspire students with hopes of improving the quality of their lives. Founded in 1919, Junior Achievements manages to reach more than four million students in the United States, and roughly 12,000 southeast students each year.

Classroom Volunteer are those individuals that turn Junior Achievement’s mission into a reality. Taking into the classrooms coordinated curriculum, provided by Junior Achievement, with the simple idea of helping young students better understand the “real world.”

Why did I choose this?
I believe it is important for everyone to have a role model to look up to. It is important to have someone that can give insight on what the work force is like and what students should know early on. Growing up I was fortunate to have a great role model that inspired me to work hard and set goals. I want to share what I have learned and pass that onto our future workforce.

Coats and Boots for kids

Throughout the fall, we put our own spin on Coats for Kids, collecting new and gently-used boots in addition to coats for kids. We even picked up donations for those unable to make it to a donation location. We’re proud to have met our goal, collecting 84 coats and numerous pairs of boots in 2018, which were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties.

Special thanks to Bouten Construction, Tri-City Lumber, Fowler General Construction, and It’s All In The Details for allowing us to place our bins within their businesses and Loni’s Sign Service for donating the signs for our campaign.

Pasco Team House

For a number of years, we have partnered with Pasco Team House to provide supplies and labor for a student-built home. This annual project is a product of the Pasco Vocational Building Program, and involves students from Chiawana, New Horizons, and Pasco high schools.

Royal Roofing roofers Shawn Scarbrough and Javier Saucedo helped install 4,100 square feet of GAF Timberline HD® Roofing Shingles along with other GAF products that help the roof stay water tight. Additionally, we donated $1,900 towards the cost of the roof installation. This is the 20th home built since the program began 21 years ago.
